Alfred Gutsa is the younger brother of the renowned Zimbabwean sculpor, Tapfuma Gutsa. In 1999, he enrolled at the Dominic Benhura workshop in Greendale, Harare, and has worked there ever since. As a young man Only 32 years old, he has developed outstanding technical ability, which, combined with his very innovative ideas and imagination, result in sculpture which is distinctive and often full of humor. Under Benhura’s patronage, Alfred Gutsa has grown in stature and confidence, and the future holds much promise for this exciting young artist.
