Rachel Ndandarika represents her pride in the dignity of women in her sculpture. Formerly married to the late Joseph Ndandarika, her sculptures stand for the need for men to realize there is no longer such a thing as a “woman’s world”, but a world in which men and women are equal. Her women in stone, like herself are strong and stalwart, determined and driven to succeed. Rachel was an invited artist of Chapungu Sculpture Park. A compelling personality, to whom people are instinctively drawn, she is a successful and fascinating woman as much as a successful woman sculptor. Rachel’s smaller sculptures are intimate and appealing while her larger works are powerful and expressive depictions of themes from her own culture.
